Brian Bolland was born in Butterwick, Lincolnshire, UK on 26 March 1951.

The now legendary collaboration between Brian Bolland and Alan Moore resulted in one of the most iconic images of The Joker British-born Bolland was paid the ultimate compliment when he was given the choice of working on any DC Comics character. His choice resulted in Batman: The Killing Joke, published in 1988.
